I ate a live duck egg! {PINOY DAY 1}

{ Philippine Day 1 }

Hello readers, as some of you that follows my instagram or twitter knows that a couple of weeks ago I went to Philippine with Diana and her mom. It was like the first time in forever that I once boarded a plane again and I was so excited the night before we went (Well also the days when we were close to flying). Alright, let's get blogging shall we !

The night before we flew, I stayed a night at Diane's place. We actually had to wake up at 5am-ish but we slept at around 12 because SHE hadn't pack ! I was helping her with picking out her clothes, shoving stuff into her travelling pack and tidying up her room after the whole mess we created. Next morning, I felt like I was about to faint because of the short time to sleep! (PS I need at least 6 hours of sleep, LEAST) Anyway, we got ready, I had a little eyeliner on and went to Bandar Tasik Selatan train station to take the LRT to KLIA2.

While waiting for the train to arrive

After arriving, we had our breakfast at Nyonya Colours. A typical Malaysian breakfast - Nasi Lemak, before I leave for 6 days !

Fake candid shots of Diane and I while walking to our departure hall hahahaha

Okay, So I guess this counts as an ootd ?

Goodbye!

Time to fly!

It was a 3 hour flight and there wasn't much to do on a plane, So we selfied.

(PS ; I guess you've maybe noticed my eyeliner missing. It was because I realized it was uneven and it made me look super weird, so I had to rub it off! The first time I did, I only rubbed off the left eye with water and my right eye still had eyeliner when Aunty Annie *diana's mom* was in a rush. It looked super weird I had to keep covering my face until I got into another toilet, get my makeup remover from my luggage and finally remove everything! Omg, I was soooooo pissed and annoyed.)

I read 'Where We Went' by Gayle Forman on the plane, it's the second book of 'If I Stay' and oh boy, did they brought me tears !  I was trying to keep in the water works but as I read, I gave up and let everything out. It wasn't the kind where I sobbed and moaned, it was the light sniff one with a huge amount of salty water rolling down on my cheeks lolol. Both books made me weep like a baby. But okay, this isn't a book review post, maybe next time ?

I'm not sure what you see, but what I see is it kinda looks like a little girl twirling with a chick on top of it. How about you? ;)
We're about to land, I see you Philippines!

We were almost landing and this girl still wanted to sleep.

OKAY YAY WE LANDED HOORAY! *Excuse me for my epic round face*

When we landed, Uncle Julius (Diana's uncle) picked us up with his family and Diane's older sister in the car! The moment her older sister saw Diane and her mom, she hugged them and cried, aww. The scene kinda made me a little homesick even though we just landed.

We sat on his van back home but before we went home, we were hungry! "Let's go to Jollibee!", Diana said. I've heard her bring up about how yummy Jollibee tasted so I kinda got a little excited when they said okay.

Jollibee!

Aunty Annie and Uncle Julius's family! *Aunty Annie's the one with stripes*

 The before and after

Their best seller were the spaghetti with Philippine styled sauce.
The spaghetti came with a piece of fried chicken or pork stuffed rolls, depending on which combo you order. It tasted sweet but good!

After filling up our tummy, we hopped back into the van and headed to Uncle Julius's place.

Can you believe that a truck full of pigs made me happy? I was like "OMG DIANA THEY HAVE PIGS ON THE FRIGGIN ROAD" Because we don't have that in Malaysia and them pigs are so cute and fat ! Still, when I thought where they were off to, I kinda felt sad for them. I sorta wished I could break them out of that truck and make them run freeeeeee.

"Hey! It's been long since I've eaten halo-halo" After it had been said, we stopped at "The Original Razon's" for some halo-halo.
The menu

What is 'halo-halo'
It's a famous Filipino dessert. Basically, shaved ice with evaporated milk and some coconut sport inside topped with leche flan (the brown thing that kinda looks and tastes like kuih)

 The inside of the restaurant

Here's the halo-halo we ordered with a bottle of Fanta

We also tried Palabok. Its actually like low xu fun (Rat tailed noodles) topped with thick red-orange sauce flavoured with dried shrimp and an hard boiled egg.
It wasn't as yummy as the one in Jollibee.
(OH, Speaking of Jollibee, Jollibee is like McD in Malaysia, you can see it almost in every 400m !)

I was so full by then, when we got into the van my butt felt so heavy I had to literally pull myself up.
When we reached Uncle Julius's place, all 3 of us just headed to our rooms to take a nap. I rinsed my body, changed my clothes and dropped dead onto the bed with Diana. Well, not immediately, we had some selfies before we really dozed off.

Okay so after that we slept, we really did. lol

"GIRLS WAKE UP, ITS DINNER TIME!" I was so reluctant to leave the bed when I heard Aunty Annie knocking on the door. When I opened my eyes, I realized the room was pitch black, then I thought we slept for a really looooong time. But when I woke up, I asked 'the half awake' Diana what time it was and she said it was 7. I couldn't believe what time it really was ! 7! It was so dark outside!

Our dinner was nearby the house that served bbq food ! It wasn't a restaurant but in a house, they bbq it outside right infront of the house and they have tables inside for customers.

Oh.my.gosh. These were so delicious, so yummilicious, so mouth watering! Everything was pork and it was served with onion and chopped chili padi in vinegar.

While carrying my big fat tummy filled with the heavenly bbq food, we were at a pasar malam that sorta looked like Petaling Street except the crowd wasn't so big.

Its called a 'Balut'

What is a 'Balut' ? It's a developing duck embryo that is hard boiled. So you can actually shape out the look of the duck.

They bought it at the night market for me to try, at first I didn't even wanted to touch it because I was so full.
Then again, I was curious what it was and what it looked like before they even told me it was an duck egg. The way to eat it is to find the flatter part of the egg and cracking it open slowly. After you made a hole, you suck out the juice inside. It tasted like chicken essence. The inside of it scared me because it looked so disturbing, though I ate it in the end.
I ate 1 and didn't take anymore after that, I wasn't a big fan of eating an animal that looked alive in an hard boiled egg.

My tummy never felt so full before! I cleaned myself after and hopped into bed, called my boyfriend which I had missed since I touched down in Philippines and slept.

Stay tuned for day 2, xoxo.
